What is Intense Pulsed Light Therapy?

Intense Pulsed Light Therapy (IPL) is the next generation of technology for advanced skin health, anti-aging and rejuvenation. Various treatment options are available with light-based therapies, each allowing for effective treatment of a variety of skin situations, including wrinkle reduction, aging spots, melasma, skin discoloration and also permanent hair reduction. These remarkable therapies are completely non-invasive, affordable and involve no down-time. IPL treatments are FDA cleared and backed by tremendous scientific and clinical data.

How do Light-Based Therapies Work?
This unique and highly affective approach to anti-aging and skin rejuvenation works by combining light-emitting diodes and highly energized fluorescent light in the same treatment process. We apply pulsed light energy to the skin cells, which effectively revitalizes and reconditions skin by stimulating circulation and increasing collagen production. Combined together in a series of treatments, these true medical treatments improve skin appearance, vibrancy and health.

Who Benefits?
Almost anyone who wants to improve skin health and appearance, prevent aging, correct skin problems, or rejuvenate the skin, including women, men and teens of all skin types, ethnic and age groups.

How will an IPL Treatment Feel?
First, a cold gel is applied to your skin to help conduct treatment. During the procedure you will feel several quick “snaps” to your skin – similar to experiencing a rubber band snap. These snaps will be felt when the light wand is directed to different treatment areas.

How Soon Can I Expect Results?
You can expect smoother, more hydrated skin with a natural glow after the first treatment. Light-based therapies work by continuous improvement and rejuvenation of skin and produce long-lasting results. Don’t expect dramatic changes on your treatment day. Optimal results should be expected over a period of 2-3 weeks after treatment. You can return to your normal activities immediately.

Initial treatment is generally completed in 1-3 visits over a course of several months. In six months to one year you may choose to schedule a maintenance appointment to bring your skin back to its best condition, and varies per individual. Following a recommended treatment plan will minimize the inevitable skin aging changes that all individuals are subject to. Cumulative results, maintenance treatments and an effective at-home skin care regimen are very important determining factors.
